We always needed a few women on board to be the voices of reason... +1
No excuse other, perhaps, than the majority of them are not SEC caliber players. The fact of the matter is that UT coaches must work their asses off to recruit nationally competing against the best teams in the country. And this program was left I such a mess from Fulmer and Kiffin that perhaps the coaches simply had to make a call not to focus in investing a bunch of time in areas where there simply was no benefit to be derived. I am not defending Dooley or his practices here - the dude was an arrogant prig most of the time. but there are an awful lot of conclusions being drawn based on one article published in a publication I have never even heard of.
I'm guessing you off set my ridiculous downvote. Glad I'm not the only one who saw it that way.
Plus the new staff had inroads in other places we used to own like Jersey, Maryland, and the Carolinas. We pulled a lot of talent from those areas during our glory days. The staff will go where they know they have the best shot at the best talent.
Now that last sentence doesn't mean to neglect TN. We should never do that, but last season was last season and Dooley's decisions have landed him where he is now, no longer HC at UT.
+1 to ya
haha, another downvote for nothing!!!! For someone who doesn't post much, I've evidently made an enemy

I wasn't promoting taking less talented TN kids over more talented out of state kids. But if you burn bridges with the home state you will miss out on the elites that do arise. I realize this is just one article and I'm not bashing Dooley. But while 37 coaches does not constitute an majority, it does raise some concerns. But your points are taken. It's not alway black and white. Here's hoping the new Coaching Staff never lets a great TN kid leave the state. GO VOLS!
BUTCH IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. GO VOLS!
