I can't believe CP lived up to the hype.
Oh man, didn't even think.about that. Whoa.
We basically won 42-14..................almost happened.
Should've happened, agree.
So close to a total blowout. But that's first game stuff, I guess.
Pig might be another option with the running attack too. There are definitely ways to make this a very awesome team this year.
Georgia Dome curse..... Gone...
Running game still scares me. Take out CP's 67 yard draw dropper and you have a measly 128 on the ground for 3.5 avg against a weak front 7 of NCST. What are we going to do against SEC defenses?
But, finally another win inside the Georgia Dome, maybe this is our turn around year.... Go VOLS baby!
Next week for Croom will be huge and the bye week IMO for Pig even tho he might be back for FL........he will need lots of reps.
Simple... Make Lane your starter...
He earned it tonight. It will be interesting to see how Neal responds....
my predict. was 35-17 did anybody get any closer?
D will improve little bit more. i think lane needs 2 b RB if J G can't get him 2 run north and south.
great win and real proud of them. GO BIG ORANGE!!!!!
GO BIG ORANGE!!!
True..........but Lane might be our starter now........Neal better learn fast to hit the hole and not dance or he will be back at WR or the bench. Lane looked good. We just are not talented at RB but have enough to be ok. Ok with an elite passing game might be good enough.
WIldcat will happen IMO
***We played well........and will learn a ton from it and every game this year*** (we are still young)
and then some! GO BIG ORANGE!!!
Bray and Hunter were rusty too. Both will improve the next few games. GBO!
i hope we beat florida then henry might change his comitt
GO BIG ORANGE!!!
I love how we alternated playmakers...I believe to start the game they were favoring Hunter and we went to Patterson and after he had some big plays they favored him and we went to Hunter. I also like how we went at Amerson and make him prove he could stop our receivers. On the running game I believe that Marlin Lane may have just won himself the starting job...he ran the ball the way that CJG wants it ran..hit the hole and run up field. Neal danced a little too much ..Lane ran hard 9 for 75 8.3 ypc...Neal 22 for 53 only 2.4 ypc.. the defense had a few missed assignments early..but all in all it was a good effort..stopped the run, pressured the qb, and created turnovers. Im happy but we could have been alot better which is kinda scary that we put up over 500 yds and had missed opportunities with some catchable balls....GO BIG ORANGE!!
Says The Wizard of Oz!
If we can have a similar night running (even minus the Patterson end around) against UF, I think we can beat them.
If the running game takes a step back, it's going to be very, very difficult and the game might end 13-10.
JMO but Lane needs to be the starter until he proves he's not worth it. He was running through people and staying between the tackles. Neal had so many negative runs just because he wouldn't take the 3 yards. Lane was taking those 3 yards and churning his way to 5-8 consistently.
My thoughts on the night:
Great opening win and the curse of the Georgia Dome is over.
Tonight, Marlin Lane was better than Neal. Neal did too much dancing while Lane put his head down and went.
We were easily 3-4 TD's better than this team, but let them stay in the game because we couldn't complete a few 3rd or 4th and shorts. I expect this will get tightened up and we'll be fine going forward.
Hats off to Bray for being patient and not forcing the issue any tonight. He was off on some throws, but he didn't throw into any double or triple coverage and made good decisions IMO.
Loved the aggressiveness of the D. They applied constant pressure all night and never allowed Glennon to get comfortable. Hats off to NC State's RB's because their pass protection kept Glennon from getting sacked a lot more than he did.
Overall, excellent first game. If we can build on tonight and continue to improve then this could be a really good year IMO.
I hope Wildcat does NOT happen. You're taking the ball out of our 3 best play makers if you do that (Bray, Hunter, and Patterson). Just gotta find a better way to run straight ahead for 4 tough yards. Lane did look much better doing that and getting that extra lean.
Dooley on the radio said the offense ran around 80 plays vs the 65 average last year..... Hrmmmn
Just for 3rd and 1s or goaline they might do it.............we will see. They didnt show everything tonight.
