Do you guys know any non chain places to eat and go to? We are going camping there next month and just want to see some non chain places. Thanks

The Peddler- Park Grill- Best Italian //
Pancake Pantry is a really good breakfast stop that's a local favorite in Gatlinburg and Nashville — I believe those are the only two locations — and I've heard good things about The Peddler Steakhouse, but I've never been there myself. Smoky Mountain Brewery also is a solid bar/restaurant, although it's a small local chain that also has locations in Knoxville and Maryville. Bullfish Grill in Pigeon Forge, a part of another local chain, has solid seafood and steak.
That's about all I can tell you for sure. I don't make it to Gatlinburg too often myself, but there are some good places there. Lots of chain places, of course, but still some local flavor to be found there.

Best italian is surprisingly good. The same people also on a Steak place up the strip closer to the park but I can't remember the name of it, anyone help me out? Rolls at Best Italian are buttery garlicy goodness.

The national champion is clad in Big Orange!"
Pancake Pantry is a must. That place is awesome. Get the blueberry pancakes or the French toast. The Old Mill in Pigeon Forge is really good too. Family style home cooking.
