Cuonzo was very well received. It's all about the coach around here. Strong has mentioned before he thinks opportunities weren't presented to him because he's married to a white woman.
MIAMI -- Florida defensive coordinator Charlie Strong believes race was a reason he hasn't been offered a head-coaching job during his 25 years in college football, a newspaper reported Tuesday. Strong, a 48-year-old black man, shook his head affirmatively when an Orlando Sentinel reporter asked him if his interracial marriage was a factor in getting passed over for jobs including one at a Southern school a few years ago. Strong, whose wife is white, said he heard that too many times for it to be rumor. why Auburn chose Iowa State coach Gene Chizik over Buffalo coach Turner Gill. Gill, a black man, also is married to a white woman, and ESPN later reported that...
"Old School"! A strong defense wins championships!
Says The Wizard of Oz!
I personally really like Strong. I like his demeanor and the intense attitude he has would seem to be a HUGE intangible asset we have lacked with DD's sometimes lackluster sideline prowess. He seems like a pretty straight shooter and a BIG TIME "players coach" and I believe he will do well with many recruits bc of this. When I say that I think of all of the reports coming out of Dooley's reputation as smug and stuck up and the fact that we have many recruits and HC's in and around the state of Tennessee making statements of such. Also MANY of those same recruits (most 4*) have publicly stated that they would be willing to talk seriously with the UT's new HC(no matter if Gruden) bc anyone, to them, would have to have a less rigid approach. Strong appears to have a ton of emotion and connection with his kids...as I see him during games on the sideline. In fact, to win 10 games(or the majority of scheduled games) with ANY TEAM IN THE WORLD, I don't care what sport, the HC must have some very deep impact on his players. All these things are things we need and have been lacking and you can see it with DD's 3yr record and Strongs record period. NOW I'M NOT SAYING STRONG IS THE BEST OR MOST QUALIFIED nor the only coach to possess these traits, BUT... He appears to have the all intangible qualities a team NEEDS for a winning attitude and building team chemistry.

Just want to win. Don't care about race.
Some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go.
