Interesting story from my friend Brett McMurphy at CBSSports.com.
With mediocre teams drawing anemic crowds to 35 bowl games last season, Brett McMurphy says there's growing sentiment teams should be better -- at least seven wins -- to play in one. The result might be fewer bowls, but better ones.

I am certainly not against this. Hopefully it eliminates a bunch of just terrible bowls. Teams shouldn't be rewarded for going .500
Yeah, but teams in Conference USA, etc. shouldn't be rewarded for 7 wins while SEC teams sit home with 6.
They'll never be able to make everybody happy. I like the 7-win requirement.

Make it 8!
Great another reason to water down more regular season games!
I'm with Bubster, I think there should be an 8 win minimum to go to a bowl.
Interesting read and personally I am all for it. Way too many crappy bowls out there as it is.

I'm all for the 7 win requirement. I also think all your major bowls should be played on Jan. 1. I really hate how they drag out bowl games after the 1st.

I'm all for 7 or even 8 wins to get in. I hope they change it.
