On TOS there is a rumor of Phil Fulmer to ETSU as either a coach or in the AD. Word is he will be announced tomorrow and it includes complete control of the program and the construction of a stadium of some sort. Wondering if ya'll had heard anything? I personally don't believe this one bit.

I am happy for him if this is true, I always knew he wanted to get back in coaching.
I'm pretty sure they have an AD
there was a news report where he mentioned the idea of getting their football program back up and running.
I remember hearing where he had been helping them in the early stages.
I'm a ETSU student, was looking around for any more word on Fulmer being announced tomorrow and happened across here.
Most I can confirm is that there is some buzz around here about it, but people are strangely tight lipped about it, which leads me to wonder that the rumor is actually true.
ETSU does in fact have a plan in place for outdoor stadiums, and starting up a new program, and has a meeting with the TBR about student fees. TBR has announced they have a meeting coming up in regards to student fees and programs and ETSU is confirmed to be on that schedule for discussion.
The only other thing I wanted to address was the comment about us having an AD. we don't. We have an Interim AD until we find one. Pres. Noland outted the old AD about a month ago right around when he pushed the football program start up through student governments, etc. So yeah, I could us hearing tomm that Fulmer will be the new AD, considering he said he would be willing to help in the early stages. That doesnt sound like a 100% coaching commitment to me, and more a proposal to bring his experiences as a football coach for a high program to a start up. ETSU needs a football minded AD when we place someone in that role, and Fulmer really seems to fit the bill.
Sorry I can't confirm more for you, but I guess we'll all know this time tomm.
Would be happy for him - if that is what he wants. At least, if he is the football and AD there, he won't have a Yes-man AD sitting by while the school president institutes ridiculous academic requirements that his main competition does not have - and then Firing Him when things go downhill athletically.
well if this true ill be buying my season tickets for sure if he is the coach.i can be there in 20 mins or less from bluffcity.man i hope this is true
but the downer part ive always want fulmer to be our ad at tenn.dong gone-it

BUTCH IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. GO VOLS!
I know that when it was first announced that ETSU was bringing back football, Fulmer had been mentioned as a possible hire. But I thought that it was more of an advisory role. Regardless of what type of role he might take, I think that Fulmer to ETSU is a great move for both CPF and that University.
Great if it's true. A real coup for ETSU, and Fulmer gets back into the game in a unique situation instead of taking on some permanent also-ran. Hope he's got Bill Curry on speed dial.
If its true that he's going to be HC, then I for one will be going to some of the ETSU games. It's only 45 min away! Great fit for both!!
Anyone have an update or hearing anything on this?
@WJHL11: So... Why do YOU think Phil Fulmer was on the ETSU campus today? What are your thoughts?
