"Count it down with me. Five, four, three, two, one.
The national champion is clad in Big Orange!"
Forde has always hated Tennessee, always. He loves him some UK, any chance he can throw a barb in and promote the Cats, he does.
I don't really see that as a jab at Tennessee at all. It is a jab at the whole SEC, IMO. He brings up some really valid points. I am a bigger basketball fan than football, so Ive noticed these things for a while now.
I wouldn't argue his point, that football matters much more in the SEC, but I don't think that's necessarily bad considering it's football that drives the revenue of the athletic department.
I disagree with his point about Tennessee "only" having 10,000 fans yeseterday. It was played away from Knoxville during the work week and work hours, so you don't get the students OR those with a job where they can't up and leave.
He basically picks out specific points to back his premise, and I think the points he picked don't really paint a clear picture. He glossed over the fact that Kentucky and Tennessee are both top 10 in attendance each year, and the SEC as a league was 2nd in average attendance last year.
Personally, I usually enjoy his stories, but I don't take them to heart. His stuff is usually more about entertainment (see his Forde-yard-dash articles sometime).
