I sit back and think about the program and honestly I feel like we might be back at the top soon. Butch Jones has had success everywhere he has been. He's off to a good aggressive start so far on the recruiting trail and he's embracing the job unlike Dooley. He understands the expectations and he seems to love them cause they also come with amazing recruiting tools and tradition. 2014 class has a ton of legacies in it and they are all interested in Tennessee. Maybe it's destiny for Butch Jones and the legacy class to bring Tennessee back to the top. One can only hope that this buzz and feeling around the program is right.
The legacies would make a great storyline if they bring success. +1
Its not a stupid question until you ask it.
His legacy will be jump started or run in the ground by legacies
I did not know a Vol fan who did not think Dooley embraced the job initially. Dooley held together recruiting his first year after being dealt an impossible hand. He then stabilized the program and seemed to be buidling it up but it became obvious he was overmatched by the end of his second year. I too am optimistic about CBJ - but reasonably so. The SEC is a shark tank - hopefully some balls will fall our way and CBJ will get us back to competing for the SEC East then the SEC.
I hope its the former and not the latter
IT TAKES NO TALENT TO HUSTLE
I love the optimism. I do, but Butch has never beat a team that has more talent than him. He's gonna have to do that at UT in order to win more than 7-8/yr. Maybe the legacies can help us acquire more talent than our opponents and give Butch a better chance to be successful
I guess what I meant by saying Dooley didn't embrace the job was like he made excuses a lot. I worded it wrong. Like Butch seems like he's a no excuse guy and just get the job done. Be relentless.
BUTCH IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. GO VOLS!
Well said. +1. This is the first season in quite a while that I feel that gut feeling that we are on our way back! Back to UT powerhouse, exciting football.we haven't had a team who plays unified as a team in 4-5 yrs. this will be different!
