I live and work in Birmingham, I watched 4 years of a team from Alabama when a NC. I have watched Alabama recruit like a machine for the past 6 years. I have watched my university fail time time and time again, but now we have a coach that has won at different schools has players new and old talking aobut how great Tennessee is again.
So my point: Most of us have been fairly excited about the different prospects that we thought we had a shot at and most of us have been similiarly disappointed that we have lost out on a fair number of them, but tomorrow if we don't get people we think we should get or people that we want it's not the end of the world.
Coach Jones IS NOT the worst recruiter in the world. He had two months to salvage a sinking ship. He has not even coached a single scrimage for Tennessee. We can not judge him on anything so why even try. It helps none of us to be negative at this point.
The recruits ARE NOT idiots for going to different schools. It's just not the right place for them at this point in time. I hate it as much as the next guy, but telling a 17 or 18 kid that he sucks or is stupid for not coming to Tennessee on twitter, facebook, or a forum just doesn't make sense to me. And it can only hurt our chances with anyone in the future that might want to consider us.
I believe we have the right coach maybe we don't win a ton in 2013 or 2014, but sometime in the future we will begin the long trek back to prominence. And I just hope we all act positive no matter the outcome of one single day on this long journey.
One last thought Buck Fama and don't feed the Trolls they'll be out in full force tomorrow.
Best thing to come out of Alabama: I-59 North

Great post +1
Send this to lou holtz and the idiots at espn. They need to read this and read it on live tv. Great post man!
So we got what I thought was going to happen and it is a shame. I think that we probably have the right guy in place, but some of these players just didn't see it...yet.
Bell made great comments to Wes its about relationships. You don't build relationships in 31 days. It takes time and it was time that we just didn't have this year.
So lets move forward in a postive manner. We have a new coach with a great new outlook and they worked their asses off this past month for the Univeristy of Tennessee!!
I am happy about the 21 recruits we got this year that will be great contributors over the coming years and they will be the foundation for a our return to prominence and we need to support them in everyway.
In 4 years we should be able to look back at today and be proud of what we have. We have already been 5 LOOOOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGGGG years where we were mediocre and that was in the positve years. So to me what is one more year where we are develpoing a foundation of winning.
Many will hate this stance we have already witnessed the hate, but that way of thought hasn't gotten us anywhere so far so I'll let you all define insanity.

Man, there are a bunch of us on the board from Birmingham. Maybe those memberships Ryan donate to the BBOC resulted in permanent customers. Bammer sucks.
What are you talking about??? Ryan donated memberships!!!!! I want a refund!!!
Door prizes. I think he'd been on the job with 247 for a couple of months. He drove down from Knoxville, gave us a great run down on NSD and drove back home that night. Probably got home at 2:00am or later. Dude's a warrior!
