"Old School"! A strong defense wins championships!
There has got to be something to this. A lot of smoke I haven't commented on gruden at all till now. I have just been reading and taking it in and sounds to me like its gonna happen. I know its a long shot but who knows he could have squashed them today and he didn't maybe that's just his ego he likes his name out there but I don't think so. I really believe he will be our next coach. Wow how great would that be.
He said he enjoyed Monday night football and wanted to keep that job. Put down the orange crackpipe.
If this (Gruden) is going to happen, I think the "delay" is that his final payment from Tampa Bay is not until next month. I have no inside or legal knowledge, but It could be that, if he takes another coaching job before then, he does not get that cash. I read that he is pissed off by the way it ended in TB and probably wants every last dime of their $$$. Depending on how much it is, I can't say I blame him. I have to admit that I hope that this is what the "delay" is (if you want to call this still relatively short time period between Dooley's firing and now a 'delay'). Also -- his reply on Mike/Mike this morning was Not a denial of interest in UT. Before this morning, I thought the chances of landing Gruden were relatively remote. After hearing him today, maybe there is some fire to go along with the smoke?

Must be a difficult situation for ESPN to report/speculate on. The potential of one of their own employees to take another job.
I'm sure the ESPN programming team has been walking on glass with this one. Of course now, the rumors are getting so wild they have to capitalize on the news that is trending. I wonder if anyone at ESPN (higher ups) know what is really going on? Even if they did, they wouldnt interfere with the news cycle that is SportsCenter's life force.
