sorry if this is a re-post. He loves to bitch and moan but he's got a point on this one.
“I noticed both USCs had their pro timing day today,” Spurrier told The State. “One of them finished No. 7 in the country last year, the other was not in the Top 25, yet ESPN decided to go out to the one in California which did not finish in the Top 25 and televise their pro timing day live. It’s interesting that (ESPN doesn’t) come around here on signing day, they don’t come around here on pro timing day, and yet they want us to play all these Thursday night games for them, which we do.
“Maybe we need to consider playing on that new network, what is it? FoxSports Live?”
He has a very valid point. ESPN loves the glitz and glamour of LA.

LA market versuses the entire state of SC...no brainer.
No one outside of South Carolina cares about the Gamecocks. USC is a much sexier brand, and more people will tune in to see what is going on there than what is happening in Columbia.
Actually the brief time I spent in that area it seemed the populace could'nt care less about college football, barely made 1st page of the sports section. where as the whole state of S Carolina are rabid fans. Unlike us they fill their stadium even during bad seasons. Granted it has been a few years since I lived out there. Oh and by the way Spurrier can kiss my A-- .

and a lot of us in South Carolina don't care about the Gamecocks either.

Don't forget Williams-Brice is much, much smaller than Neyland. A bit of an apples to oranges comparison IMO.
