Look. The 20 hour rule isn't going to impact Gruden like everyone thinks. The 20 hour rule is for "required" activities, etc. Gruden will easily overcome this if he lands in college because he is one of the best motivators around. Dooley had issues with players wanting to watch film because they weren't motivated and didn't believe in their current system. I would venture to say that Gruden would get them motivated to spend their "voluntary" hours in the complex watching film, working out, and learning the systems. Gruden will show them the benefits of putting in the extra time and help them understand that is what it takes to get to the league, not to mention that he'll have a squad full of 5-stars that actually have a shot at making it to the league, therefore, they'll put in the hours.
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.
One of the more delusinal posts ive seen. Not only do you act like Gruden is a UT lock, but you act like its a sure bet he would be successful in CFB. And on top of that, since when does UT have a squad full of 5* players? You think Gruden is ready for the grind of recruiting?
Gruden ain't a lock by no means but if you think we have no chance you need to stop being biased!
Your first post is on a TN board?
You have a chance, but the $$$ wont work out. And itd be dumd as hell to make him the higest paid coach in CFB
when he hasnt done anything on this level. And if you sign him, he will be the highest paid coach in CFB
$6 mill a yr? Ouch
too slick for you fools
420, brah. Tells me all I need to know.
UT possibility of landing Gruden, must really really be a bad thing...if other fanbases are so against it.
(not just referencing our Gator friend here)
This is exactly why we need to get this deal done. Hiring Jon would not only put fear into every other coach in the league including Saban, but it seems that it also puts fear in the fans of those teams too. Thanks Gator for further demonstrating that fear. As to your five stars we will just have to watch the draft the next couple years and watch all those Vols come off the board in round 1 and 2.
Glad to have you visit. If you'd like to visit the other posts, then you'd know what I'm referring to. No where on the this post did anyone mention that Gruden is a lock, I'm just stating that those who have questions about his coaching style and the 20-hour rule should look at it from a different angle. The mention to 5* recruits is for what Gruden will be bringing in, not to what is there now. Gruden travels weekly now and has been since his time as an analyst. He goes to Monday night games and then his other pieces on ESPN, therefore the "grind" of recruiting would be no problem for him. In all honesty, he may have more time in one location due to coaching than he does now.
I understand that as a Gator fan you don't want us to get someone like Gruden, but at least post intellectually if you're going to troll our board, or for that matter, read the post before making your own biased thoughts.
Don't feed the trolls
There are only four answers to any question: Yes, No, I don't know, or the Correct Answer.
