this sat. we will be playing in the worst and smallest stadium in the SEC.
Tennessee is the underdog
the coach of the team that calls this sorry stadium home is payed more than Tennessee's coach.
what's wrong with this picture and how in the world did this come to be.
this needs to be corrected and as soon as humanly possible.
i love our Vols and no one will be cheering harder than me. this is just so hard.
GO BIG ORANGE!!!
GO BIG ORANGE!!!
Well...we have to play there every other year and at this point I dont see us giving him a raise
Besides, Dooley is getting paid 1.35 million per SEC victory. That makes him the highest paid coach in the conference.
I hear ya man. Never thought that it could get this bad here. I do believe that the right coach could turn it around quickly
It came to be because we fired a hall of fame coach (can debate if was necessary - I think not - but understand other's arguments) without having a sure fire candidate to take over. Then the AD went/got cheap - both in hiring Fulmer's immediate replacement and in the replacement for CLK when he left in the middle of the night for USC (because the AD failed to put a legitimate buyout in place). Then the AD insisted that CLK's replacement keep most of CLK's assistants - which drove off at least one legitimate coaching candidate (with a history of winning in SEC). We ended up with a good man, good organizer, but not a great in-game coach. There are likely other steps in there, but I think those were the high/low points.

If you look at ANY football program in the country you'll find that they ALL go through cycles. Just a fact of life. These hires we make are crucial to our future. Like it or not, stability is really important even if your coach has a few down years. There isn't a good head coach out there that hasn't had a few or several bad seasons. I guess some of our fans cannot adjust to the patience required to be a lifelong fan. You gotta take the good with the bad and while you don't have to like the bad you have to learn to deal with it.
