Glad to have him
"Count it down with me. Five, four, three, two, one.
The national champion is clad in Big Orange!"
Good move by butch.
Here is an often forgotten fact about Terry Fair. UT was not recruiting him out of high school because Fulmer assumed he would not be interested in coming to Tennessee from Arizona. For some reason, Fair had been a fan of UT for a long time - the way some kids do. So very late in the recruiting process, Fair called up Fulmer and asked for a scholarship.
A true Vol For Life.

I listen to him on wnox and he is a true vfl he can't stand when the reds call in dogging the Vols
Terry will help out a big way in recruiting.
When does the dead period end? I would go ahead and put him in a hotel that's close to Vonn Bells house
This is fantastic news, Terry is a guy who loves the program and liked Knoxville enough to stay around after he finished playing football.
Not positive but i don't think he can go on the road to recruit. He can when their in town and maybe on the phone. Still think he will have a big impact.
Solid move by Butch. Fair will be an asset.
Sweet. Great Vol from the past and hopefully into the future!!
IT TAKES NO TALENT TO HUSTLE
Quality Control will be his position.
What exactly would be his role? Not to up to speed on grad assistants. I think I heard somewhere that NCAA rules only allow 9 football coaches? So, would he even be able to help Martinez coach the DBs? Or would he just be hung up on doing more administrative type duties?
And an above poster made a good point. Will he be able to get on the road and recruit?
Well, Terry Fair said there is a storm coming:
This is great news!! Terry Fair was always a favorite of mine! Good job Butch!!
He can borrow my RV and park it in the street in front of his house.
BUTCH IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. GO VOLS!
I didn't know Terry Fair did the intro. That is awesome! Good pick up
Ryan, can you answer these questions....
I'm under the impression you can have a very large staff, but only 9 "on the field" coaches. Secondly, how many can recruit? I remember something about this when Urban Meyer took over at OSU.
This a good article on the normal duties of a quality control GA.
For little pay or glory, some N.F.L. head coaches started out in quality control, learning from the ground up.
