Problem is, we didn’t know what we were doing either. But when we didn’t know what we were doing, we were pretty good at it…..
Another kid Dooley lost for us.
The list of Tenn kids that could end up going to other schools is sickening. I know Bell is technically not a tenn kid, but right by nooga and grew up a Vol fan.
Nothing new in that article.
Am I missing something? I didn't see anything in that article to indicate that we don't have as good of chance as Alabama and Ohio State.
It's a foregone conclusion he is choosing Bama. We need to stretch this out to NSD to have a chance. But he's pretty set on Bama right now.
I agree with you. That article didn't lean one way or the other.
I agree he is now a Bama lean but you seem so definite. Where is the info on that being the case? Not doubting. Just want to know.
My brother is a Bama fan and has a subscription on TOS and there MOD's are very confident... Kirby Smart and Lance Thomposn were at his game last Friday...
He could still come to us but we definitely don't lead and if he chooses sooner then later it won't be us.
State Championship is this Friday, Butch Jones has to be there.
Didn't Bell like CDD but not his hot seat status?
That's total speculation and you being pessimistic. You don't know this kid or what he is thinking.
It's fact. We don't lead, Ryan could tell you this. Probably 3rd behind Ohio State.
I agree on all points except his attendance at the game. I don't think it's a good time to try and visit. However, it would be a good PR move. This could have been so easy with more attention. I know he is not in that 'Chattanooga' district that includes Cleveland, Red Bank, Dayton, East Ridge...but that area has a history of great players on both sides of the border with Ga. I may be remembering incorrectly but our '85 Sugar Bowl team had 6 or more players from that area. Over the years we've had Reggie White, Bob Johnson(first player drafted by the Bengals), Dale Jones, Chris White, Andy Kelly, Tom Johnson(Bob's brother), Gerald Riggs Jr...shame on the Dooley staff. I supported him as I do all our coaches but this inattention issue is inexcusable. If there are no great players you still keep the relationships open with the schools.
Von plays at 5:00 on Saturday in the 4A state championship at the Georgia Dome. Hope we have coaches there! If you want to watch him play it should be airing free and live on GHSA.net. When you get there go to the GHSA.tv link.
Rock On Rocky Top....
If you live in Georgia or Chattanooga area you can watch it on GPB (Georgia Public Broadcasting). The game is set to begin at 5:30 unless the 2:30 game before it goes longer than expected.
One guess which cheesesteak did it. Boo hoo.

Vonn is a spectacular playmaker. One angle to get him to Knoxville is for Coach Jones to recruit him as a WR.
I don't know what leads you to think Bell would want to play WR.. but if he does, I think CBJ should absolutely give him that opportunity.
Bell is an example of a kid who should have been on absolute Big Orange lockdown, but who is now on the verge of slipping away. As good as Meyer and Saban are at recruiting, UT had a huge lead on Bell early on. The fact that Bama and tOSU are leading us for his commitment is an absolute disgrace and an indictment of Dooley's recruiting.
"I'm like Wes." --Ryan Callahan
I could be wrong, but I thought the initial reports with Bell was that he liked the coaching staff and was waiting to commit because they were on the hot seat. Please correct me if I am wrong, but I thought I remembered seeing that in one of the Bell recruiting articles.
