If Gruden is going to be our coach, it makes no sense to wait to make the announcment. For recruiting purposes, a new coach needs to be named asap. If it were really Gruden, then why not make the announcement today. Looking less like Gruden to me, but I hope I am wrong.
Who is Gruden!?!?!

I would think the opposite. Gruden very well want to finish his MNF responsibiities before anythingis annonced. He's the one guy we could probably get away with announcng late and still have a major effect on recruiting.

Based on some of the things that I am reading I'm not sure they have the financing in place yet to make an offer to Gruden. If this is true, it makes me wonder about the other high priced coaches with big buyouts as well.
But I agree with you. I think if no announcement is made by the time Hart leaves for New York this weekend then the Gruden window is closed.

IF it is Gruden. There may not be a deal yet. Or they may want to wait until Friday to take advantage of the SEC Championship Game. Instead of AL and GA getting press, TN would as well. It's only been a week, and that week was over Thanksgiving. Contracts involve lawyers and agents. Things take more than 5 minutes.
I'm thinking we hear something on gruden by Friday or Dooley part deux here we come.
I would guess gruden will have to finish out his Mnf contract, so it's possible he could want to wait longer so he doesn't have the circus going on the entire month of december. Last Mnf is 12/22.
Last MNF is 12/17 - there is no Monday night game during Week 17 , which would be Christmas Eve this year anyways. There could be a need to let Gruden finish out the season before formally announcing a hire (assuming he's the new HC).
