I love the kids swagger and his arm is incredible but I am not sure still yet that he realizes that the team completely follows his energy and demeanor. I personally believe this was a significant contributor to the air going out of the tires late in the game last night. He has to believe in the team, continue to press till the end, lift the team when adversity strikes (he has done this sooooo much better this year but I saw that wane last night at the end) and just flat out not let the team get discouraged.
I hate to even type this but it is on my mind. I have compared him to Tony Romo in the past but in my mind the more apt current comparison is Ryan Leaf. Immensely gifted, but lacking in key intangibles.
I am not giving up on him as he has time to grow but I hope to continue to see the growth immediately. The UGA game is now very much key for him.
Lol you and I are on the same wavelength, I just posted aomething similar +1 to you
in another thread I said Bray quit...Your take on it is more fitting.
He is not where he needs to be between the ears to win in this league!
I think when the wr started dropping big passes he just said the hell with it
He is Jekyll and Hyde
I am almost ready to make the Jeff George comparison.
I was looking for a leader in the third quarter and he disappeared. I'm hoping to see improvement in the next few games because UT needs to beat more than 1 or 2 S.E.C. Teams this year. It was pretty apparent by pre-game and during the game no one in the media takes this team serious. Hopefully a few good wins will change that opinion.
Completely agree. When he has been successful has been against less stellar teams where our WRs can out run and just are more athletic than the DBs. He's got a heck of an arm and pure skill and that will win a lot of HS games and beat some mediocre college teams, but it won't beat Florida, UGA, Bama, etc. and it sure won't make it at the next level. My two cents.

BRAY sure as heck aint ready for the NFL....
I was actually thinking today a Ryan Leaf or David Carr comparison. Elite skills but lack of intangibles. I really like him and hope he gets the maturity and the correct attitude he needs. What was Hunter's attitude on the sideline at the end of the game. I saw multiple people come over and try to get his head up. He needs to be a leader too. I know he is young and he has only appeared in less that 10 or so games, but he has to be confident and not let a drop or two break his confidence.
I watched while we were up and bray was yelling at lineman, receivers, and running backs to stay fired up and also if mistakes were made. Soon as the game became tied bray's head went down and it never came back up. Stopped talking with people and not one player seemed to call him on that. I couldn't believe what I was watching on the sidelines( Had a great view of UT bench). It was such a dramatic change when the game became TIED, not down, TIED! It's for that reason that I am just so disgusted with Tyler and the entire team.

You can't be serious?!?!?! You're gonna start Worley over a future NFL draft pick? Don't get me wrong, Bray has morphed into the QB that I hate to love, but there is no denying that his upside is far greater than that of Worley. Worley just can't make the same throws that Bray can make. If he could, he'd be the #1 QB.
I agree, with the maturity Bray has shown I don't think he'd accept a demotion very well. However I'd want to know what I had in Worley after that mess last night. If we're leading by any amount at halftime over Akron I'd have Worley start the second half.
Actually, Bray reminds me of a physically gifted NFL QB: Jay Cutler.
Both have rocket arms and both seem to lose interest in games if their teams are down. Both of them also force the ball more than they should. Being a Bears fan, I've seen enough of both of them to see the similarities.
The interesting question is what do we have at QB next year with Bray gone? It certainly sounded like Peterman pushed Worley in the Spring. I am not suggesting burning a red shirt just looking forward....
I think we'll see plenty of Worley during the Akron game, but it will probably be with the 2's at both line and receiver, so it's hard to tell what you have. However, since they faked the injury of Bray in the final fall scrimmage, I think they know who they have in Worley. I bet the run game would improve with Worley, because just like when Simms was in, you HAVE to run better, and I'm sure he would audible into running plays.
I'll go with your comparison Crockett but I have a REAL hard time comparing a Vol QB to a former anchor down boy......
Hard to disagree with the Cutler comparison. But I would like to know how their intelligence compares. Bray seems to have the same demeanor, and I think unless there are some significant changes to it between now and the end of the season, I don't see him getting a good draft grade. That being said, I am COMPLETELY TORN on whether I want him back for another season or not!! Right now I am leaning to yes, only if Hunter and CP stay, but I highly doubt that happens.
