Not trying to get religious or political here. Just filling in the board.
Cheek's letter is short and to the point. See it below.
NICE!!!! I love it!
It does amaze me that some people get offended over anything these days, out of 100,000+ at Neyland Saturday, I'd like to know how many were actually offended by the prayer before the game. I'm glad they're going to keep praying before the game.

As an atheist, I've never understood the controversy over prayers before sporting events. Even though I'm not religious, I think the message of good, healthy play on the field is something any reasonable person can get behind. People who disagree are just trying to raise a fuss.
For me, i guess, i just have never understood it either way. I do not think there is harm in having it or taking it out. I can pray anytime i want, or when other people pray, so I am neither for it or against it: I will just let those who need to argue over anything have this topic and be happy with my own religion.
Most pre-game prayers are theistic in nature, but not Christianity based. Most pre-game prayers refer to a general god, and are generally pretty harmless. It's just funny for the Freedom From Religion group to be pressing on this issue. Dude...you are free from religion! It's a prayer, not religion.
+1 to you for having a differing opinion on religion, but thinking these people are just being problematic.
This thread can stay if y'all remain civil.
Tread lightly, though.

Nothing offends like politics, religion, and TYLER BRAY NOT WATCHING THE FREAKIN' FILM!!!!
I said that in my head with my best forceful Wes Rucker voice.

Correct. Those are the options.
This is pertinent UT news, so it can stay ... but only if everyone respects everyone else's opinions.
I say this as a former altar boy — respect the beliefs of others 'round here.
I'll pray for you Wes.
Please do. I need all the help I can get.
I wish Roger Brown at UT Chattanooga would have come to the same conclusion
I was tiptoeing to the fridge for something cold and my dog Blue gave me a quizzical look. I told him I had to 'Tread Lightly' because Wes Rucker said I had to. His response was 'who the heck is Wes Rucker' and I said he is the moderator on the sports site where I post. He said, why should you be afraid of some moderator who is not even here. I fainted and spilled my cold drink and when I just now came to Blue had licked it all up. No more Rucker dialog with Blue.
