I now go to "Quote Confidential" first. I suspect I am not alone.
It's not for me to tell you to make it the lede, but you might consider making it a seperate post because it is that good.
"Bravely taking to his feet, he beat a very brave retreat." Sir Robin's Minstrels.
Some things in life are like a bookends or a bathtub -- you have similar experiences at the end to what you had at the beginning. In '09 at Bama and '10 at LSU, UT lost two hard-fought games against top 5 (or better) opponents on the road. This year, we just lost a hard-fought (but sloppy) game against #5 in their house. I can't help but wonder if we didn't almost win those games in '09 & '10 because major opponents overlooked us, knowing we were weaker. I do not believe that was the case with UGA Saturday. Georgia came ready to play, and _still_ had reason to be nervous in the second half of the fourth quarter -- when we were unranked and the game was on their turf.
The program was taking a plunge in '09 & '10. Maybe there's reason to hope it's pulling out of the hole now.

One other complaint about UT's telegraphing the run with its backfield alignment: Rajion Neal is one of the fastest if not the fastest guy on the team, running a 40 in under 4.4. Once in the GA game, he got into the GA defensive backfield on a run and started giving their DB's a run for their money. If we stop telegraphing our runs, he could have more chance to run into opposing defense's secondaries. That would not only be good news for UT's running game, but would eventually force defenses focusing on UT's passing game to adjust to stop the run -- with predictable results for Bray, Hunter, Patterson, et al.
The rest of the story is that the TV announcer could have been talking out of his @$$ to try to look smart. They only showed one play where Tyler was slightly in front of the RB - not 10 or 11 plays. Could not be true at all. If UGA knew a run was coming, how come they couldn't stop it? It was not like our run game was great coming into the game. I would take the announcer's comments with a grain of salt.
I expect the defense to struggle . Living in Georgia I watch a lot of their games , when they made the change to the 3-4 they just flat sucked for the first half of the season and the second they started putting it together. We are ahead right now and with a bye week this week they can iron out some more of the problems . I think we should be fine , I think they gained confidence that they could play in this leaque something we sorley missed.

BUTCH IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. GO VOLS!
So does anyone else think these past few games gives Bray pause about leaving next year for the NFL? I think Patterson is gone! His sister said at the Akron game that he was leaving if there was a chance he could go in the 1st round. I think that'll happen.
The VIP Room is the reason I subscribe to 247!
