Two open dates?
That seems weird.
At Oregon and Florida back to back.Thats going to be tough.
Why two open dates? Seems like they may be setting it up for a 9th SEC game in the future.

That happens when the calendar falls a certain way. There's an extra weekend between Aug. 31 and the end of November next year. This year, for instance the weekend on which UT will be playing Kentucky next year — the game will be on Nov. 30 — happens to fall in December, so that extra weekend allows teams to have two open dates.
Some teams probably will choose not to play the weekend of Aug. 31, but since Tennessee is playing that weekend, the Vols will get two open dates during the season.
That's not an SEC thing. That's because the NCAA football schedule includes an extra weekend some years, and next year happens to be one of those years. It's not all that unusual. Happens every few years.
nevermind... Thanks Ryan
When can I buy tickets for Mizzou?
Ok I'll start.
AP - W
Oregon - L
Florida - L
USA - W
Georgia - W
USC - W
Bama - L
Mizz - W
Aub - W
Vandy - W
Kentucky - W
Looks like I'll make it to the WKU game, but not the AP game the weekend before (I'll be back in Atlanta again).
Surprised that the South Carolina and Alabama games aren't reversed. The "fourth Sat in October" doesn't have the same ring to it!
Back to back away games at Florida and Oregon? Brutal!! I do like seeing TN taking these high profile games but the schedule fairy did not do them any favors when it came to this.
At Oregon, at Florida on consecutive weekends? That's like me flying from Alaska to Knoxville!!
Surprise, surprise, UGA avoids playing at LSU and Bama again.
It has 7-5 written all over it. I'm already depressed about next season.
naw man we got this
The Alabama game actually hasn't been played on the third Saturday in October very much lately. This year's game is more the exception than the rule, based on the last 10 or 15 years.
They need to fix it
Someone (Spurrier) will likely point this fact out multiple times. Does Mark Richt have pics of Slive hot tubbing or what?
Lets win out this year.... Take that momentum and kick some butt next year. Just pumped its bama week!!
Assuming there are no coaching changes, the 3-4 defense will have 2 games to prepare for Oregon.
If the biggest jump in that scheme comes from year 1 to year 2, having that small buffer against a FCS school and a mid-major are going to be crucial.
Tough schedule, but it's the SEC, what do you expect?
Not knowing recruits, off-season coaching changes, player attrition, it's impossible to really say what the ceiling or floor for that schedule is. But it sure looks rough.
I like the hard games. I don't like playing AP's and western Ky.'s of the world. couldn't get any one better? I mean I like getting wins but dang. It doesn't matter ill cheer for the vols no matter who they play. Go vols
