Yes. But not to UT.

Long-term doesn't mean what is used to, and I never say never in this business, but I think he'll be here for a while and be successful.
His opinion matters a lot, IMO, but he's not a Boone Pickens or Bobby Lowder. He doesn't demand things just so everyone knows he's a big deal.
Yes and no.
Thunder loves Fulmer and always will, but — and I say this as someone who has never had a bad exchange with Thunder — I think he and many others simply want to be BFF's with the prominent people in their region.
3. I really like what they're doing there. Not a big Dusty guy, but he never really puts a horrible team on the field, and his players love him, so obviously I'm missing something.
6. I'm just getting back into the house world after being in a condo community the past 2-3 years, so I'll get back to you on that. They would be battery-powered and gnarly, though.
1. It's both. But he was hired to do a job, and UT knew who it hired, and he's doing it his way.
2. I haven't heard of many (if any) donors being angry specifically at Hart.
You're right. Nothing is bigger than winning games. Neyland is awesome, and it just needs an awesome product on the field to once again be revered as one of the nation's toughest places to play.
I wouldn't lower ticket prices until maybe the last minute at some games. I would do it occasionally, though. There's a fine line between understanding that a cheaper ticket still gets you paid and making your program appear weak in the eyes of many.
1. Don't Drink The Water ... maybe.
2. Vin Scully or Ron Franklin or Ian Darke. Depends on the sport.
3. The Scorpions, mostly because of the whistling in "Wind of Change," the most awesomely awful song EVAR.
Because it tastes better.
I come from a big, Catholic family.
Need I say more?
Wheat, almost always.
How would that chicken taste if it wasn't washed in egg and dipped in flour before it was fried?

I think I will go listen to the 2nd hour of yesterday's podcast when you decided to show up.
nasty, my soon to be ex-wife never got that part figured out
Just to follow up on the ticket-sales question, this may be a bit more of a technical, sales-related answer than what the question was seeking, but I don't think lowering ticket prices at the last minute accomplishes much aside from hurting the overall value of the tickets you're selling.
For starters, not many people will buy tickets at the last minute even when they're cheap. If people aren't going to watch, say, UT play Middle Tennessee, there's a reason for that: It's not a good game and, as in last year's case, the Vols aren't particularly good. Second, lowering ticket prices at the last minute also will convince some people not to buy tickets ahead of time the next time around because they know tickets will be discounted as the game approaches, so it can hurt overall sales.
As Tennessee starts winning more games, you'll see attendance at those types of games improve. But even some really good teams are having trouble selling out games like that now. The quality and convenience of HDTVs is making it more difficult for sports teams to sell out every game. Look at the NFL. It's the most popular sport in America, and there are teams that still aren't packing their stadiums on a weekly basis.
It's a complicated question without much of an easy solution, in my opinion, and that's what Tennessee and a lot of other programs are dealing with right now. But winning games is the first — and, probably, most important — step necessary for UT to start filling up Neyland on more of a regular basis.

yea that's what I was thinking you'd say... well good luck, Im sure there are many things you and Ryan would like to see...as well as the fans here who are starting to foam at the mouth!!!
Don't forget Wes that an intergral part of the force equation is M which equals mass. 380 pounds hitting you ... and worse yet LANDING on you!!! Besides a 250 LB would have to run at a 1 or 2 sec 40 time to equal his force (380 pounds running at say a 5.0 second 40 pace)....
just saying, you sure you wouldn't want any money?
hahaa awesome man thanks!
You get to vote for the 2012 Presidency early, and your vote alone determines who will lead our country until the next election in 2016. As of today, who do you vote for? Obama or Romney? (There is not a write-in option, and those are the only two candidates on the ballot, and you MUST vote for the sake of America)
Wednesdays with Wes is long over at this point, and I don't think Wes is going to be answering this one. Pretty much anything goes in Wednesdays with Wes, but we try to avoid politics on the board altogether, in case you've missed a couple of recent threads that addressed that issue.
I would love to answer this question, but I don't answer political or religious questions in this board. I save that for my personal Facebook account. Not Wes Rucker Vols Coverage, but Wes Rucker.
I should have locked this earlier.
Same time next Wednesday, nerds.
