Vereen was a lot quicker off the edge then expected. What kind of comparisons are there if any. He had more sacks in the spring game then Jacques Smith has had his 4 years in a Tennessee uniform...
Was it talent, or just horrible 2nd team OT play.
Serious question and not rhetorical flame..... but how many of Vereen's sacks were legitimate sacks, and not just touching Peterman as, Peterman ran near him. I seriously thought that Peterman didn't get any favors in the O&W game because he ran with the 2's, and half of the sacks on him were by people that weren't in position to actually wrap him up and take him to the ground. I wish he had been "semi-live" if that's even possible. Maybe where they could take him down, just not hard, or low, or at least have to wrap him up. Some of the tags were just shoulder pad tags, where I thought he could have scrambled an additional 8-12 yards.
Good question Drizz. +1
Also had a follow-up Vereen question.
I've read numerous times that the coaches want him to gain weight and bulk up. Any indication as to what is the ideal weight for him? Don't want him to lose that quickness.
Spot on Rev
One "sack" in particular, Nathan was coming straight at me(jumbotron end zone) and would have gained 30 yards or more. They should make it 2 hand touch or give the QBs flags or something lol
