I thought maybe you guys would have good contacts to pass this along to.
So I went on risetothetop, watch the videos and get fired up. Then I saw the "contribute" button. I clicked on it and was ready to contribute for the first time since I graduated in 1999.
I filled out the form, etc, then I just get a message that someone will contact me.
Why the heck can't I just contribute $100 online with a credit card just by clicking a few button? Really not a smart approach by the University. The Obama campaign prove the power of taking small, $25 donations online. Crowd funding is a hot thing these days. I'm on the board of a small non-profit in Atlanta and anyone can go online a contribute any amount they want to.
50,000 twitter followers times an average donation of $50 = $2.5mil.
If I can contribute to a politician online in literally less than 5mins, why in the world can't I give to my university.
And for the record, I'm not taking a call from someone, talking to them, explaining how much I want to give, etc. never mind....I'll wait until the university enters the 21st century.
Oh, and one other thing.....why in the world would the pictures, video, etc on utsports.com be flash based knowing iPad doesn't support flash. I'm not sure if word has gotten back to Knoxville yet or not, but a lot of people have iPads. Be cool if the IT folks at tenn got a clue on that.
Well, at least the videos on risetothetop.com were really cool.
