If we had beaten LSU and UNC (especially LSU) in Dooley's First Year (I can still see them celebrating) - how different would perceptions be of Dooley and where would we be now?
I'm afraid, it'd be the same.
It may be even worse. Cause we would have conceivably regressed when we have more talent all over the field
So many things would've been different...
1st off if we beat LSU we aren't playing UNC in a bowl game.
2nd If we did count those 2 wins we would've gotten better players in that recruiting class.
I actually think of this a lot, but what if we lost to Vandy last year, then what would today be like 0-13 in the SEC. So we just have to play the hand were dealt.
Things might be different, because I believe he may have had a more persuasive argument to convince a few more game changers to sign in what would be our Sophomore class. Saying UT is on its way up is more convincing when you're 8-5 with a win against LSU and a bowl victory. If one or more of those potential signees happened to be a D tackle or elite JUCO WR that sure would have helped last year's team. The energy around the program would have been way more positive and right now a few more people would probably be giving Dooley the benefit of the doubt.

I think a lot of things would different, once you learn to win close games the next gets easier.
If if's and but's were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry christmas
