Some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go.
BUTCH IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. GO VOLS!
1 Corinthians 16:13 Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
I guess I always had hope they(everyone) would improve but they just got worse. So, It would be when he couldn't get T Bray to lead, read defenses , etc(mid-year) but what has really upset me is all the new(for us anyway) info. on his lack of recruiting and poor relations with so many high school coaches and a number of 4 & 5 star recruits.
Mizzu did it for me.
Fair or not, that was the point that I realized he wasn't going to get it done. The Vols needed that game soooo bad.
The fake kick vs. MO wasn't a quitter's move, but it did suggest desperation to me.
The mizzou game did it for me. It was like he wanted to lose. To prove we could lose in spite of our talent. Done.
I have to admit, I probably held on a little longer than most. I really fell for the organized structure creating coach he was painted to be. So I didnt lose faith until I started seeing just how untrue that was in certain areas. Not enough OLs, not enough WRs and just the general feel from the team since CBJ has come around.
2013. Team 117. Beginning of the new Era.
Dooley did a lot of good things for a program that was left in shambles by others. I stuck with him until the Missouri game, that did it for me. I think he is good material as an assistant somewhere else, but I don't think he is ready to be a head coach anywhere. He's a poor decision maker and afraid to take a chance. I truly do wish the best for him.
I was never a believer in Dooley. The guy had a sub .500 record before he came here. But I supported him and had hope in him until the Mizzou game. If I remember correctly, that was the game that we took a knee before half-time or something when we had 2 time outs and plenty of time to score. I was done after that.
Headed for the tool box after Florida...Hit the nail on the head Mississippi State.
Mississippi State for me too. There, we were not playing a team and we went from not being able to pull an upset to not being able to win against a fairly evenly matched opponent.
