i would be okay with playing 9 SEC games.... Usuaully, with exception to last year, Tennessee plays a big name team OCC..... If the SEC goes to 9 games, we replace our hard OCC game with a SEC west team.... That is fine by me, i would prefer to watch another SEC game..
Whatever it takes to keep the Alabama game, I'm for. If that means 9 games then so be it. I think RockyTopAtl had a great idea and it made a lot of sense but that just means the SEC will never consider it.
"Never take for granted what it means to be a Volunteer." Peyton Manning
"Count it down with me. Five, four, three, two, one.
The national champion is clad in Big Orange!"
The nine game schedule but the only bad thing about it is they will schedule teams like Montana for there non coferance schedule.
If it isn't broke don't fix it. Stay with 8 games. The Sec is difficult enough. If the Sec wants to keep Bama-tn rivalry going, they will find a way. I have to agree with Ryan, most fans in their 30s and younger view Florida as the biggest rival now. I'm in favor of keeping the Bama game, but I think they should stay at 8 conference games.
A lot of good opinions on here. Since being a UT fan for the last 20 years and hardcore for the past 15, I do agree with what Ryan was saying about newer fans considering UF as the big rival because they're in the same division. However, I believe that tradition as rich as the Alabama game must be preserved. But with all of the exoduses to other conferences, a lot of rivalry games will go by the wayside. Change is not always good and rarely popular. GO VOLS!
BUTCH IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. GO VOLS!
This wouldn't be the first time SEC expansion has killed a traditional rivalry game for Tennessee. The traditional Auburn/Tennessee game was another causality. This shouldn't be allowed again. The next worse thing would be splitting the Cubs and Cardinals in two different divisions... Tradition needs to be preserved for man kinds survival...
Your team. All the time.
