Dooley? Chaney? Other?
Hinshaw and Pittman I think are the two who deserve a lot of credit for the offense this year. Hinshaw has done a good job with the receivers.
Pittman has done a good job as well with making the offensive line very consistent. They've managed to keep Bray healthy and upright most of the games.
Chaney and Dooley deserve credit as well but that's my pick for identifying two areas where there has been a lot of improvement.
Don't forget Graham.
I think a lot of it has to do with having a strong group of upperclassmen finally starting. They have physically matured to play on this level. Also the oline has made huge strides. Coach Graham has had a terrific impact on our rbs. It's a shame our disastrous D has crippled our remarkable O
The coach who deserves the lion-share of the credit has to be Coach Pittman. Chaney has done a great job calling plays on first and second down but his third down calls are atrocious! Graham has done a great job getting our RBs to run hard but objectively speaking, our running game is the statistical weak link of the TN Offense. The WR are good but I believe their success has more to do with the player’s rare talent and less to do with coaching. Said differently, our WR unit has failed at the details; route running, looking the ball into their hands, etc. The same can be said about our QB. His talent is undeniable but his attention to detail leaves much to be desired. That leaves one group; the Oline. What I am most impressed by is the overall improvement in comparison to last season. The players are the same but the result is completely different. That my friend is what “coaching up” players is all about. Pittman is the clear cut choice IMO.
Have no idea why a new HC would even touch the offensive staff unless it is an offensive-minded HC who was bringing in his own system. If it ain't broke...
Chaney was a hold over from Kiffin. I'd personally like to see a lot of our staff stay. I think we have a good nucleus of coaches, just a piss poor DC. Atleast on D I'd like for Ansley to stay, Conklin too. Iwouldnt be heartbroken if Chaney left but it'd be beyond clutch to keep Graham, Pittman and Hinshaw under a new regime.
