Am I missing something here?
He took over a Cincinnati team that had went 23-3 the previous 2 seasons and immediately lost 8 games in his first season. He has gotten things turned around somewhat since but STILL has not been able to match the success of his predecessor and even lost to Dooley last year.
They are only 4-2 in the Big East and lost to Toledo this year!
Do not want but feel free to try and convince me otherwise.
Pretty certain I can't muster up anything convincing and to the contrary. Good post.
Agree 100% Say No to Jones!
There are only four answers to any question: Yes, No, I don't know, or the Correct Answer.
I second this....
The ONLY possible things I could come up with is that Cinci had lost a ton of starters his first year and that it's pretty hard to recruit to cincinnati? When you say cincinnati to someone they don't think of "football success". I know that brian kelly went undefeated, but if you look at their schedule they didn't really play ANYBODY. then they got beatdown by Florida in the Sugar Bowl, so I dont know that they were ever really the #3 team in the country or if that ranking was just a product of their super soft schedule.
Either way, if we hire him that means we've had quite a bit of people turn us down and it's not a good sign. i'd rather have Petrino than Jones.
