I almost forgot... This place is no joke (and any southerner would appreciate)
Yep. Been there multiple times. It's quite solid. Tasty.
As I have a good supply of apple wood, I usually just smoke the meat myself, because PDX doesn't have (as far as I know) any really GREAT BBQ.
This is a darn good Southern Bistro -- at least it was last time I was there, which was years ago:
Here's a clip about Pok Pok in NYC. The flagship restaurant in Portland has a bigger menu:
Sorry to talk about food so much, but, uh, it's only May, I guess. :-)
Haven't been there, but it looks fantastic.
Thanks for the tips, bros. I'll be headed down there with a buddy, and this list of places to go shows that we will not be disappointed by the selection.
Butch Jones. Who???
It's just football...but I can take a loss with a smile, IF WE PLAYED OUR BEST...however, I'm saying Tennessee 17, Oregon 14..just sayin' :-)

It really sucks to see all the vol fans on here saying its a done deal, already lost the game. How in the hell do you already admit defeat this early? No way in hell I'm saying we already lost. Last time we played them we had them on the ropes until we had a 2 hour delay and let them catch their breath. If you have a son about to fight a 6-4 man and he's only 5-10 are you gonna tell him son it's already over you can't beat this man, or are you gonna tell him he can beat him and don't give up. All of you have already lost, maybe it helps you to think it but I never will, we win, don't care by how much.

Where can we get one of those?

If that is your attitude, it is alright by me. The fanatical part of my brain feels the same way. Its why we watch the games we aren't supposed to win. Unfortunately, OP wasn't asking for what we hoped would happen...he asked for a candid analysis, which he got in spades.

no need to worry, we won't bite
I understand what the OP was asking, I was just saying UNTIL the clock says 00:00 or we are down by 30 with 00:20 to go I will not say we are gonna lose. In my way of thinking I never admit defeat until it happens (call me stubborn) but we are gonna win that game those are MY boys that are gonna take that field and I will let them decide the outcome. JMO
That's exactly what I think, close at half and I have no idea what to expect in the second half. Anything from hanging tough and winning to a 40 point blowout loss. I really think TN will be much better late in season than early. Too many questions at critical positions where incoming freshman most likely will make an impact. Very few ever show out in their first college road game.
If you're in Eugene try the bier stein it has great food a 1,000 bottled beers and 24 taps .... It'll be busy but I stop here every time I'm in on business -
all im gonna say is, FEAR #55 Smith is hungry and is gonna be in the face of the quarter back all game
Well he is going to have to be able to catch mariota first haha ;) mariota is a burner at qb.
Thanks...I'm depressed now...lol
And for those who know soccer:
Yeah,I don't understand. How many people on this board will watch the UT/Oregon game? If I knew we had no chance to win,why watch it. No one really knows what kind of a team we really have at this point, you haven't even seen anything yet, maybe the orange and white game, what does that tell you, absolutely nothing. Maybe watching practice, well mistakes happen in practice, trying new plays, new routes, new signals. They will have these things better retained by the Oregon game and never count out heart over talent. Just my thoughts and I still say when those kids take the field they will be pumped up and ready to play. Vols win.
Volfan28 I normally like your post but I have to say I bet your off season is sucking. According to you the only thing we have is an OL. Well they won't win many games for us we may only win 2 games this year because we suck at every position. And the only reason we win the 2 games is because we are stronger than A.peay, and western Kentucky, but wait B.Petrino may beat us too. Nobody knows how Palardy will do this year we have a senior kicker, experience matters, and he may have a coach who believes in him. We have a Gatorade POY for a QB, we have at least 1 pass rusher who will be much better in this 4-3 which better fits him. Neal will be fine as you said. Our WR are not what we had last year but they are still good enough to be in this league and compete.
I know you weren't bashing them the way it sounded but if I thought the way you posted and the way other posters are thinking I would be depressed and not looking forward to this season. Anyway I enjoy your posts and everything and look forward to a great season.
PDX thanks for the tips-staying in Heathman in DT Portland thursday -Sunday
