EastDillon2010 I have personally talked to CBJ and that's what he told me. "Give me a Kid with Heart and Soul and the Ability to be Coachable along with being Talented and Intelligent" his comment on stars***** was this"
" I don't make my final Decision based on Stars*****" I make my final Decisions based on My Knowledge and Experience of recognizing wether a Kid can make it at the Next Level and Not have to be BabySitted and pampered throughout their careers. Dedication,Heart, soul and the ability to learn!!
Well stated. The star rating is the basis for a physical talent evaluation, not whether or not a kid is going to fail 27 drug tests in four years and eventually get kicked off the team. By definition, a 5* kid should be more athletically gifted than a 3* of the same position. Like you said, I could fill the stadium with kids who "want to be at Tennessee." It's not a question of desire, it's a question of ability. Most of those kids simply are not ABLE to compete athletically with bigger, stronger, faster kids. Sure there is the kid who comes out of nowhere to be great, but many of these evaluations are pretty good; that's why coaches pay mega money per season for the scouting service's evaluations. I don't know of any legitimately contending SEC team right now that is filling its roster exclusively with 3* players. Bama, LSU, UGA, Florida, Texas A&M, SC are all recruiting the best rated players in the country and that's why they are winning. Give Saban a team full of skinny kids who run 4.8s and he's not winning 3 out of 4. Butch Jones may be a great coach, but I don't think he has a snowballs chance in hell of winning the SEC next year. That's not a reflection of his coaching ability, he's just playing the cards he was dealt. He was dealt a roster that's not as talented as many of the teams he'll face. It's his job to make sure UT isn't in that same boat two years from now.
Pretty sure I saw one period in that whole block of text

StokedVol you're CRAZY!!!! Hahaha
I agree on Jalen Hurd!! He's the Real Deal as I'm sure every player that is recruited is also. Since you brought up the Star***** thing could you be more specific on how it works and who exactly is doing the evaluating and what are there credentials concerning playing football,Experience and at what level? Remember this is just a question? The Combines and camps you speak of and Highlight Videos and so on, Do you think or believe these are based solely on Talent and performance or do you believe it could be Highly Over-Rated$$$ depending on the basis of " It's not what you are but,it's who your not" Theory?
