  • I cannot believe he committed to Wisconsin. I had him penciled in as UT lock.

WHAT? He was definitely one I was counting on too. Can't believe that, but gotta think the coaches aren't going to let up on him. Bret Bielema better not expect his "gentlemen's agreement" to be worth a damn here.

Can't remember, were we recruiting him for offense or defense? Could that have played in to the decision because it looks like all the Wisconsin tweets label him as a DE?

That sucks. Hope we can flip him still.

He is being recruited as a DT, he said he would only consider teams recruiting him on the defensive side of the ball. As for Bielema's "gentleman's agreement" that was a bogus media report. Bielema said nothing about recruiting committed players. Bielema confronted that fucktard Urban Meyer about constantly "bumping" recruits during dead periods and having former players calling recruits, both of which are illegal. He's pulling the same sh*t tactics he did at Florida and I believe he's already racked up 40+ secondary violations.

    I come in peace everyone.

Latham will play DT for Wisconsin.

In regards to BB and the "gentlemen's agreement," there is a misunderstanding that people believe he was upset with Urban Meyer for continuing to recruit Kyle Dodson, a one time Wisconsin commit. This was initially reported by one of the several crappy journalists employed by ESPN. The reality is that BB was upset that Urban Meyer for "bumped into" Kyle Dodson at an event during a dead period and he had a conversation with him. He also allegedly had former Buckeye players talking to Kyle Dodson during a dead period. Both actions are NCAA infractions. This was also reported, but did not get nearly as much coverage.

Bret Beilema doesn't give two sh*ts about coaches recruiting Wisconsin commits; Beilema recruits commits and other coaches recruit our commits. It's part of the recruiting process.

    Very true.

Alec James will likely commit in the next few weeks if he doesn't get a Bama offer. After that it's an OT, 2 DB, and RB and we are likely done. I don't think we will even have room for a QB this class unfortunately. Having Biegel and Ramesh accepting grayshirts is really helping us get a few additional recruits we otherwise wouldn't have room for.

Interesting. I hadn't heard that angle on the gentleman's agreement story. I'm all for any clarification that shows Urban as the classless chap that he is. I actually like Beilema most of the time. Other than occasionally running up the score and going for two against bad teams, he has teams that win by playing physical, disciplined football, and he's doing it with generally less heralded recruits. I also really like Madison a lot. I've spent hundreds of nights there for work and it is an awesome town. I can see why some call it the best college town. But if Darius Latham were to ask me, it's the armpit of the Midwest and Knoxville is where it's at.
