Was listening to Fulmer earlier today on Sirius XM (Jack Arute Show) and it sounded like he didn't have much faith in the Academic Administration at UTK. He mentioned something about all the Presidents that UT has had over the last few years and that most of them didn't understand UT Football. I kind of agree with him, does anybody running the current debacle on The Hill have any idea what's going on? I don't have much faith in Jimmy Cheek, Joe DiPietro or any of the other former Gators and Tide homers that have taken over the leadership postitions at my Alma Mater. Mike Griffith, before he left for his Alma Mater, Michigan State noted that UT is totally different than when he started at the News Sentinel. He said that all the Tennessee People are gone and it's a totally different environment over there.
P.S. This isn't a pro Fulmer thing either.

Read between the lines of what he said. There is almost no way Dooley is going anywhere because they can't afford to take the buyout hit.

Was not said in reference to the decision he is about to make in regards to a HC, but if this is his philosophy...
Sounds more and more like our financial instability could work in Dooley's favor, though.

Jimmy Haslam III just paid 1 Billion Dollars for the Cleveland Browns. I'm pretty sure that somebody can dig up some spare change for a buyout.

Could also look at it as to delay firing could be a step backwards. With the financial situation would it cost more to keep Dooley and have empty seats? Would it cost more to buy out and have more folks come out on game day. A decision im glad hart has to make and not myself. He may have the toughest ad job in the business for now..... outside of penny state that is.

I was just thinking the same thing. If we need to come up with some money for a new coach, the money will come.

The other question to be asked is can Hart afford to keep Dooley around. A 7-5 season does not exactly have every fan running to get in their donations and season tickets. I have no idea what the season ticket sales look like but next years home schedule and a mediocre record this year can't be good for business. What is normal revenue in a season for ticket sales? Just trying to compare the numbers not stir the pot.

Does anyone else find it odd that Dave Hart would even discuss the money situation, especially in its current condition? I heard him discuss the same figures on XM 91 with Jack Arute just about two months ago. Why would he be talking to everyone in the media about how much money we don't have?

7-5 and a bowl win and the stands will be full next year. Less than 7-5 and I think Dooley is gone. To me the variable in this was the Sunseri hire so we could move to the 3-4. Hart is no fool. He knew what that transition would be like and he signed off on it anyway. What does that do to the speculation about what it takes for Dooley to stay? Was he giving Dooley two more years?

The first sign in several years that this program is making progress...That's called hope and there hasn't been much of that around here for a while. Most folks don't define progress the way you do 'Drizz and that's no slam.

Agree to disagree but that's fine. Momentum is big. We saw how ugly it was this week. If we get blown out next week it will get even uglier, and so forth. Maybe you're right if we do win 5 in a row that will fire people up for next year, but then you see that schedule and it brings people back to reality.
