Nigerian Yemi Makanjuola knows he doesn't have the same offensive skill as many American basketball stars, but he doesn't care. He also lacks their desire to pile up points.

Makanjuola is a big part of this UT team with his defensive skills. We will perhaps see him as a scorer, as well before he leaves Knoxville.

His touch really isn't that bad. His free-throw stroke looks much better than it did last season.

Why wouldn't they like him now? Yemi is going to develop into a really solid player by his Junior/Senior year.

Yemi's by far my favorite player on the team! His blue collar work effort will lead to plenty of wins in the future.

I really do think Yemi epitomizes the style of play CCM is teaching. While Stokes has all the talent, he only needs to watch his teammate to understand what he needs to do. If Yemi wasn't the only one doing what he does, we could let the outside shooters miss all they want and clean up on the boards for easy 2nd chance buckets.

Cuonzo really doesn't like changing the starters, so probably not ... not for now, anyway.

I'll vouch for that, I love watching the guy work in person. He always brings a lunchbox/hardhat type effort in the paint.
