As hard as it may be to believe, I do think our defense has improved. The defense is making more solid plays. The only problem is that every 2 or 3 plays, someone will get out of position and give the opposing offense a big play. Lack of speed in the secondary is also painfully evident after zone shifts by the linebackers and usually results in allowing a large gain from scrimmage. The biggest impact against our defense, is our opponents have had the chance to study our game films. They have isolated our weaknesses and have developed game plans to exploit them. Our high hopes for a successful season has been reduced to a gut-wretching squeaker against Troy. Without major improvement, I am afraid that we may lose 2 more games.

Seriously, we've done some improving in areas, but we're still not adjusting to what we're seeing. We run what's on the play sheet and never think out of the box.

I agree. Without the no huddle, our QB would have to make the reads and audible at the LOS, and he isn't up to that.
