Does anyone else think that if we land Marquez North and keep Paul Harris that we could have another Justin Hunter/Da'Rick Rogers combo at WR? They compare pretty well.
Marquez North - 6'3" 205 lbs/Da'Rick Rogers - 6'3" 210 lbs
Paul Harris - 6'4" 195 lbs/Justin Hunter - 6'4" 200 lbs
Put those two on the field with Pig Howard, possibly Derrick Green and the best O-Line in college football and I think we've got ourselves a pretty potent offense, even without Bray, Hunter and Patterson.

tough to compare kids that haven't played a down of college football, to two great WRs. Sure, size is similar... but Justin Hunter has incredible physical attributes and Da'Rick has an uncanny ability to use his body to shield defenders. I guess we can hope, but you look at kids like Matt Milton and realize that the Hunters and Rogers of the world are few and far between.

OP, I love where your head is at but no.
Hunter before the ACL was simply dominant and Da'rick was just basic common sense/PR skills from being one of the most productive receivers in UT history.
That said, I hope they are.

We need to think back to Hunter and Da Rick as true FR and temper our expectations. Da Rick was basically a jet sweep guy only and Hunter caught about 15 balls all year (granted 6+ TDs). Now we did have SR WRs too playing ahead of them but it was easy to see they were not ready to carry the team at WR.
With that being said I think North can be very elite as a soph on. I think Harris is more raw but will be good but the Hunter types dont happen.....He could of been a top 10 NFL pick at one point.
I would love to see us land Corey Smith or a top juco but appears we missed on Rumph to UGA and Strong is a 2014 EE

I think those guys will be very good, but right now I'm more excited about seeing Drae Bowles, Jason Croom, Cody Blanc, and Pig Howard.
We have a ton of upside already on the roster at the position.
If we're looking for immediate impact, it'll probably be at RB or on defense.

He could be..........Hunter got set back bigtime with his injury.........So did Bray IMO in his maturity and learning how to play through tough times in 2011......he finally learned it late last season and why USCe was his best game ever as a Vol vs a good team

I mean Hunter has an amazing set of skills. He's got great size, great speed, Olympic caliber leaping ability, great body control.. It really is amazing.
But where are the jaw-dropping catches, game-winning catches, catches where he knows he's about to get drilled? He has a great set of skills, but I don't recall many great moments from him.
Da'Rick, on the other hand, is a baller. I haven't seen enough of North to know if he has that kind competive edge, but there's something about him that leads me to think he does.

And yes, I'm sure the injury set Hunter back. Wish we could have seen him for 3 full years.
