Does anyone know

  • When CBJ says we will have a fast pace offense what dose he mean? Last year we had a no huddle but it wasn't very fast. We were down to single digits on the play clock most plays. Oregon IMO has a fast pace offence. Cincinnati was getting plays off with 12-15 seconds on the play clock the other night. That was not as fast as Oregon but still faster than most. W/R/K have you guys heard anything?

I think I heard the Cincy offense averaged just under 10.5 seconds per play while clock rolling. Not sure how accurate that is, or where I heard it....Some radio sports talk show I think....Anyways....In the Belk bowl, you can bet there was more confusion due to the coaching staff issue that slowed them down some.

Good point I didn't think about the confusion. 10.5 seconds between plays would make it hard on SEC D's with the big DL's

My concern is the D that it would be toughest on, though, would be in orange. I feel like that fast of an O would put our D on the field a lot. Thoughts?

Very good point.....BUT....if the defense is disruptive and doesn't beat themselves as CBJ says, the opposing offense won't be on the field very long to begin with....hypothetically speaking of course....

I think that is the goal of every D... and we see how that worked out last year. :-) I do have faith in CBJ, I don't want to come off like a downer. Just a concern in the back of my mind though.

You are right....no doubt that's the goal. Wether or not it happens is totally beside the point lol. I don't think you are a downer, it's a very realistic concern, and I fully agree with you.
