Does anyone like the predators?

  • I used to hate hockey but since the predators came here I love me some hockey! I'm definitely a homer I love UT, Titans and predators

  • I don't like hockey, but as a sports fan I'm proud of the fact Tennesseans have a franchise in Nashville. i do take satisfaction in seeing that the Preds are doing well in the standings or having success in the playoffs.

I would think for a southern city franchise in the NHL , their history and support would be considered good, would it not? Better than the Titans in the NFL? Could you compare the two?

  • LOVE the Predators! The fact that they're in one of the best cities in the country makes them even more appealing

There support is really good! the attendance average is about 14,000 I can't say better than the Titans but comparable definitely.

  • Love the predators, and the arena is in a great area. Easy to park and eat anywhere and walk to the game. Also not a bad seat in the house and some of the chants are pretty funny.

  • Love the Preds. Only good team I have to root for lately :)

The Preds actually averaged well over 16,000 per game last year (capacity at Bridgestone Arena is 17,113) and sold out a franchise-record 25 games. The team and fan base have come a long way in the past few years.

Predators games are really fun to attend. I love going to baseball games and will always love baseball, but if you gave me a choice between going to your typical, regular-season baseball game or a hockey game, I would take the hockey game. It's a blast.

  • I absolutely love Nashville lived here most my life the only bad thing about this city is Vanderbilt is located here. That usually didn't matter because they were closet fans but the last couple years they have become worse than Gator fans! I can't wait to run them back in their hole

Thanks Ryan for the correction on attendance. Hockey is great to see in person you can't really get a feel for how talented these guys are on skates until you go to a game.

Same here love some UT, Titans! And Preds! Got a free ticket to a game two years ago, never been the same since. Love the fast pace and lots of action. Where else can you fight someone and get a five minute break, and not get fined for it.

  • I love hockey and love the Preds.

I'm actually a bit surprised they haven't fallen off more since Suter left but they seem to be doing fine.

  • For a certified country boy,, the fact that I even remotely understand hockey is amazing!!! Lol.
But I do like the PREDS. Really enjoy watching them in person. It's funny how you hear people say,, I can't even follow that little black puck around!! Bit once u get used to it, it's really pretty easy. My twocents

The two most difficult things for a new fan (based on my experience from years ago) are: 1. Getting used to the "no harm, no foul" officiating on many of the rules, and 2. Following the puck, as you say. The keys to #2, IMO, are when at home, have an HD feed of the game to watch, and more importantly, as you learn the game, you kind of anticipate where the puck is heading before it gets there, so you know where to look.

The game is incredibly exciting, especially for us country boys who greatly prefer the sports where grown men get to knock the crap out of each other, i.e., "collision" sports.

  • Love my Preds hockey. My favorite moment has to be the clincher against the wings last year. Absolutely incredible atmosphere.

  • Intense OT win tonight vs San Jose. Erat went penalty crazy. My gosh is Rinne good. Wow.

  • The Preds are playing pretty good hockey right now — they weren't particularly sharp tonight, but Pekka Rinne certainly was — and they're now up to fifth in the Western Conference. That 4-2-1 road trip they recently finished may end up being the turning point in the season.

Also, the Preds have sold out each of their first five home games — including three weekday games — coming off a four-month lockout. I remember the days when they struggled to get 12,000 in there for Tuesday night games. They've come a long way.
