When Dooley showed up there was futon smoke hanging in the air and Ed Orgeron was trying to steer our recruits to Southern Cal. We're a damn sight better off than we were then.
Dooley fixed a lot of things but he couldn't beat the people he needed to beat. That's over. He didn't run the program in the ground; he got us started on the road back. Let's let it go at that.

If all you count is wins, you are right. But there were things that were broken that Dooley helped fix. Out of fairness I'll give him that.

Dooley was a decent recruiter but he did give up halfway thru the year. He was not a good leader, he kept failing to take responsibility, and he threw his players under the bus on more than one occasion. He did not inspire his players. He also was NOT an Xs and Os genius, his game management skills were terrible. Georgia, SC, Missouri we should have won. Can't recruit without winning and can't win without recruiting? CBJ will inspire his players and they will be in the game 4 quarters, and knowing your coach has your back, our 2014 recruiting should be great. I look forward to a fun year, hope FiOS is as good about tv as Comcast was as I live in northern va.

Dooley improved the level of talent on the roster across the board. That is not even debatable. Look at the team when he took over versus when he was fired. The lack of depth at the OL is not any different than when he came here. The VFL program has been nothing but a positive, but Dooley did not win in his time here. IMO the program is around the same as it was when Dooley took over. Some things have improved but we are further away from our last winning season. The only difference to me is that Dooley left the program with more potential for winning...That is solely based on the talent on the current roster.

And again, IMO, this POTENTIAL that we have.... CBJ&Co will coach these players up and we won't be saying POTENTIAL anymore, we'll actually be discussing the PROGRESS and the PRODUCT that we see on the field, and this will PRODUCE more victories; first on the field, then in recruiting, then more on the field.
