For better or worse, Tennessee football coach Derek Dooley said the Vols had a “pretty typical” first spring scrimmage Friday morning in Neyland Stadium — some good, some bad.

One of the positives that I take from this first scrimmage is that Sunseri knows how to coach up the secondary to shutdown a stud QB/WR combo . . . Good defenses win championships!

I would say Ansley had more to do with any improvement since press coverage is about technique first and scheme second. JMO

But wasn't Sunseri responsible for bringing Ansley in?
In any case, I also am impressed with the D's coverage. That said, the offense was minus Hunter & Arnett. It'll be interesting to see how the D's coverage holds up when Hunter, Da'Rick, Patterson, Rivera & the TE's and the offensive backfield are all available to catch passes.

Lane 7 for 8 yards though would have a better scrimmage.
