Dooley or Hinshaw most responsible for inept TN presence?

  • I don't know why everyone wants to blame Dooley.. what kid is going to come here when the coach is on the hot seat and the media is part of the blame.
The man came in with part of a team and had to rebuild the roster enough to even play that year, then his second year our star players got hurt and was out the year and all the hot seat really got going when he lost to Ky, so how do you expect these recruits to even consider coming here.

  • That article was very slanted but sure.......Dooley could have done better but most every coach minus a very few you could say the very same. He was here under 3 years and had a ton to "rebuild" and changed a lot in the 2012 staff and recruiting efforts but like I said........too late. You could list things about every fired coach and esp one that was fired under 3 years.

Tiny, Stone, Bowles etc instate thought he did good..........OBrien, Maggitt, Pig, AJ, Peterman, Patterson etc out of state thought he did a good job too.

  • What about Randall Cobb? He's good enough to play on Sundays and the previous staff let him go to KY. I don't think UT has recruited well for several years. It didn't start with Dooley - it started toward the end of Fulmer's tenure. Dooley was too hard-headed and stubborn to turn it around enough.
