Dooley talks Bray, NFL draft

Derek Dooley would rather not hear either extreme end of the spectrum, but he'd rather people praise quarterback Tyler Bray's ability than suggest the Vols lack talent.

Thanks Wes. I can see Hunter and Rogers going early, but had thought Bray would stay for his senior year. Guess I was wrong. Probably all depends upon this year.

I would rather have a good season and him leave than a mediocre season and him stay. Our QB situation is solid. I think the Peterman kid will be special along w Riley.

I think we would have to win at least 9 or 10 games before TB was considered a likely first round pick. At this point, winning 9 or 10 games is much more important to the stock and stability of the program than whether he stays to play another year.

Gators, Bama, Dawgs and Gamecocks will be Top 10 possibly Top 5 defenses Bray will face this season. So we'll finally see how good TB actually is. I think he stays another year unless he has a "lights out" year and actually becomes a Top 5 pick for NFL.

Agree with you Bob, but I also think Worley will be solid for us when he get's his shot. So our best case scenario is probably Bray having a stellar year and leaving early. Then the Worley or Peterman stepping in next year and picking up where he left off.

I got beat up for questioning Bray's competitiveness earlier, but I'm curious if u and ryan think he has that competitive streak needed to be a star at the next level?

dont disagree with you .....you have to know that if Bray plays well enough to go then you have to think that all three of our WR's will go pro at the end of the year as well

He is gone unless something catastrophic happens to him. Dooley and co have done a great job recruiting QBs.

Yeah I didn't mean to discount Worley. He will be good but from what I saw last spring, Peterman is special. It will be hard for Worley to hold him off but right now I fully expect Worley to be the next starter.

I think so unless he looks really bad against some of the better SEC defenses. If he's making his checks like he's suppose and able to read the defenses, he's definitely gone. He doesn't need to win, but he's got to show some poise and maturity in the hardest chunk of the SEC schedule.

tos has some posters that are in class with TB and don't think he will stick it out if he has the chance to go NFL. My only concern is what big game has he won for us? I really like what he does, believe he has the ability to be dominate in any league--but he has yet to show this yet. Even Wes questioned if he could do what it takes Sunday thru Friday to be all he can on Sat.

He needs a healthy and complete season (big games, small games...ALL games). At this point, it's literally about as simple as that. Go Vols!

It wasn't for a certain Texas A&M qb that had to keep watching his team collapse in the 4th quarter last year. That guy still went 1st round.

I believe that Peterman will beat Worley out for the starting QB job next year if Bray leaves us. And then we have a 6'4" QB in Charlotte we hope to get in 2014.Finally I hope Dooley lets his staff coach and he keeps his hands off the team on the field.
