I've been away from the board for a bit. Truth is, it was a necessary leave.
I was shocked to realize on National Signing Day to find out how deeply affected I was by a high-schooler's choice of where they would play football for the next few years. I realized on that day that the "persistent kick in the balls" of being a Vol fanatic had become too personal for me and that I was allowing it to impact me too deeply. So I took some time away to gain perspective and remember the things that were most important in life.
I've continued to "lurk" around the board during this time, but haven't done it with as much regularity and haven't posted in several months.
Good to be back, hopefully with a fresh perspective and ability to support my team without the goings-on of the program making or breaking my day. I wish I could feign shock at a man like Harvey Updike, but I'm afraid if the truth were told, we've ALL had thoughts that make us ashamed. We simply don't act on them... most of the time. Oh the thoughts that crossed my mind about Urban Meyer after Vonn Bell's announcement.
Just amazing that a grown man would allow it get to that point!
Looking forward to reconnecting with you all and getting to know some of our new members! Looks like this site is doing what this site does - growing because of excellent articles and fantastic discussion. I have a great appreciation for this staff and all of you posters. I hope everyone realizes what a special place this is!
