  • Definitely sounds promising. Is he a speed back, or a powerful bruiser? At that size, I guess he could be a bit of both.

  • South Carolina, Auburn, Alabama and other SEC schools have shown that a freshman can be an elite running back in the league. UT has a history of some pretty good freshman backs as well. Hardesty was a nice back and I appreciate everything Poole has done, but it's been a while since I've felt we have had the kind of back that brought the WOW factor.

    “I’ve seen clips of the guys that have tripped up off his offensive linemen. It was terrible.

    I thought that was the coaches fault. LOL.

    Not quite sure, I think it has to do with the fact that we are going so hard after RB Keith Marshall. UF visited Davis last week but we only sent our RB Coach Brian White to see him. A couple days later UF sent half our freakin staff to Keith Marshall's house to try an land his committment. Well I think Davis an his family got wind of UF sending all those coaches to Marshall's house, an were taken back since UF only sent 1 coach to see Davis just a couple days earlier. Davis was solid as a rock coming back home from the FSU game, he was pumped about being a Gator an was 100% committed. SOMETHING big had to happen for him to change his entire stance on UF in less than a week. Im hoping that once Marshall picks UGA on tuesday that Davis will hop back on board, but UFs staff might have blown it. We will see

  • On this note... A guy that works in the coaches office said that Lane was really hurt or somewhat injured since like the Florida game and that we did not see what Lane really has to offer. I know he does not hit the hole very well, but do our coaches still think that Lane can be a great runner? I mean I can forsee a situation where if we land this guy that we could have our 2 running back punch that we need with Hill and Cross as the backups and Smith if he comes around.

    I mostly am commenting to see if Ryan or Wes have heard that Lane was down most this year hurt and do they think he might have a breakout year next year if he is healthy. I know for RB that is alwyas a big "if"

    Thats the thing, Davis does NOT wanna go somewhere thats taking 3 RBs this year. UF already has Matt Jones committed, an Davis dosent wanna have UF take Keith marshall too.

    Weren't you guys going crazy over Pender just a few weeks back? Weren't you doing the same about several of FSU's guys last year as well?

    Our writer says we have a shot with Davis. I'll believe it. I don't know if we land either of Sanders or Davis. Nobody thinks we land all 3. People only hope we land 2 of the 3. We don't have much depth at RB so it's not like these kids will just sit on the bench.

    Don't listen to every idiot you read on a message board.
