Of all the targets left for Tennessee, I think Joshua Dobbs could be the one that impacts the program the most. This kid is good, like really really good. He has a strong arm, great feet and is athletic enough to get rushing yards when the play breaks down, even though he is more of a passer. He's a great fit with what Butch Jones like to do on offense and is a terrific all-around athlete (elite baseball player as well).
I know Vonn Bell is important as are the others, but don't sleep on the significance of Dobbs at this all-important position. I'd say if UT struck out on everybody else, but landed Dobbs, this class would still have a significant impact on the program.
I am certainly not saying that the recruiting efforts are a failure if he sticks with Arizona State, but did want to say that in my opinion, this would be huge, probably bigger than most are making it.
As for if the Vols will get him, Mississippi State tried to but was unsuccessful. I think Tennessee may be in a bit stronger position given the visit he and his family had to Knoxville. Will it be enough? Who knows. But make no mistake this guy, barring injury and of course with development, will make a big impact for UT if he comes.
