I do not think this style of football will be successful here. 10 15 years ago maybe. Now the best athletes can and are playing defense. Too fast and strong to not eventually dominate the o line late in the game. If South Carolina gives up more than 25 I will be shocked. (Already looking stupid...hmm)

I've argued this point all year. Our defense was bad.. very bad.. but when your average time per possession on O is under 1.30 seconds on the year, you can expect a young defense to stay confused out on the field. They can't get off the field long enough to figure out what is going on.
it's either 3 and out or touch down.
i think it's great to start off with the hurry up, but i think it's flat out ignorant to try and run it the entire game. there's a reason the league doesn't run hurry up the whole game.
1.3 seconds or did you mean minutes?
Hell clowney had 4 sacks.
Make it 5
before today's game, it was 1 minute 36 seconds average..
Did you pull that off your own research or you find that somewhere? Just curious.

i went back last week and did the math.. we've progressively gotten worse this year in time of possession. we are very streaky on offense.. can score 21 points in 3 minutes, the go two quarters with no sustained drives and 3 and outs. Our O has put our D in a lot of bad situations..
our D has handed our O the ball in 3 games.. all they had to do was take it down and score. but they either fumbled or gave it away on downs each of those times. bottom line, our O could have slowed the game down and let the line take over some of the games. I think game management for this coaching staff was something they really didn't get.
This topic is total garbage.. This pathetic def could not stop a pitiful KY offense in the 1st couple of possessions. Being tired has little to do with it. They play horrible technique(in every alignment), cannot make a 1 on 1 in a phone booth and make the same mistakes repeatedly in EVERY game. It does not matter if the other team is pinned deep or gets the ball at midfield. Yes, fatigue causes mistakes. But this defense begins the games tired if that's the issue!
i never said anything about fatigue. I said they do not have time to go over mistakes on the sideline and they continue to get worse.
Cut and Chavis had a very good but competitive relationship. If Chavis was bleeding due to a specific weakness, they would meet before a game and scheme around the weakness. Game management. A ball control methodical drive that ate up clock and helped prevent the other teams O to get into a routine. they stayed cold and our defense was shielded some what. This year, Our O put more pressure on the D than i've ever seen. What we had was a Tim Couch, Hal Mumme record setting offense. How many times did you see the D get a stop and the O would come out and throw it 3 straight downs?
Our D put us in position to win 3 of those big games. Our O couldn't get it done when it was their time.
Trust me, I'm not saying that the D wasn't the weakness of this years team. We all know the D was the problem. What I'm saying is the O had some chances to create their own destiny and we never tried to scheme around our weak defense. We decided our offense was built around Bray and the no huddle during spring practice and we never wavered or adjusted as the season went along. These are the facts. There is Nothing to refute.
