  • All the plays/players mentioned in this thread bring back great memories. I'll throw one in from a ways back. These are the recollections of an 8 year old kid, so the details may be a little fuzzy.

1979 UT-Notre Dame game. UT started well, but towards the end of the first half ND had some momentum and was driving for a score. On the goal line, ND ran a play for their All-American Vagas Ferguson, and he got absolutely stonewalled by Craig Puki. Big Mo then left ND and stayed with UT the rest of the way. Final: UT 40 ND 18

There have been plenty.I thought Clint Stoener fumbled the ball on his own.I just watched it on You Tube .He stumbled into his own player almost and is falling down puts the ball down to catch his fall..Ratliff recovered it but nobody caused it except Stoerner himself. Was still the biggest defensive turnover per say.The Goodrich pick 6 could be one of the biggest on the Biggest Game Scale. One of my favorite hits will always be Eric Berry clashing with Tim Tebow. And of course every Eric Berry pick is great to watch.Al Wilson diving over the Line to almost causing a fumble once the game was over in the 99 season when Arky did beat us.That was Serious Effort we need back.Rashard Baker hit a guy against Kentucky one time his helmet popped straight up in the air like a Pez Dispensor. The blocked field goal attempt against Notre Dame I think Andy Kellys senior year might be one of the biggest on a comeback scale. We blocked and scored on it came back to win after being down I was probably around 12.Tn was down at South Bend by like 17 or 21 I watched it on You Tube the other night.Like I said there are tons really too many but those stand out.

I remember the Notre Dame game like it was yesterday, Jeremy Lincoln blocked the FG with his butt because he got through so unblocked that he overrun it! Helluva game and the game the season before against the Irish was just as good, just not the same great outcome. What made the "Miracle in South Bend" even better for me is because I had relatives in from Indiana who were Notre Dame fans, who late in the game kept saying, over & over & over, "it's ok we're still going to win because we got the luck of the Irish on our side"! hahaha! Those were the days.......,,.

watch the replay again Titan.. Ratliff fires off the line at the snap and pushes hard upfield, forcing the Olineman opposite him to step back and step on Stoerners foot. That is what causes Stoerner to stumble and fumble. Unbelievable effort play by Ratliff when, by all rights, the game was over..

  • Lots of great plays mentioned but gotta go with Dale Jones and the interception against Bama. Al Wilson's game against Florida is a close seond.

  • I have two plays by Dale Jones that are my favorites, the Bama interception, and the hit he put on Bo Jackson to put him on the sideline.

I will go with Dwayne Goodrich pick-6 in the Fiesta Bowl.

The goal line stand vs. Auburn was a great set of plays.

The Goodrich play and Deon Grant int stand out in my mind.

  • Ratliff in 98 is my top. EB destroying Maze and Knowshon, and Al Wilson being Al Wilson. Those stick out to me.

There is no doubt that Ratliff's rush caused the stumble, and therefore, the fumble.

Darwin Walker's forced fumble on Clint Stoerner and Billy Ratliff's recovery in the 1998 Arkansas game...hands down. That play had more effects on our program than I think a lot of people realize.

plus 1+ i just knowed that night we was beat and the way it happen was just meant to be at the end of the game nearing,i was almost ready to cry and i thought we was doomed,to me that made history now looking back how important that fumble was.
without the fumble we wouldnt have been n-champion....for first time things went our way
