Hey guys, I'm looking for some ideas of golf courses in the area for our golf league that me and my buddies are starting in the spring. What are some of your favorites?

Bear Trace and Stonehenge are the best that you could play. No doubt about it. Im pretty sure theyre ranked the best in TN too!! i play them a few times a year and will always go back. And im 3 hrs away!!! Cherokee cc is amazing and I play there every year in the Pat Summitt tourney!! Not sure if u could get on there tho!

And that's my favorite in the Tri-Cities. Wonderful layout. It would. be almost famous if it were not so far off the beaten path.

Graysburg has been pretty famous. It's been in sport illustrated before. It's nice. The last few yrs its not as great. But if u go there make sure to play the knobs and fodder stack sides. Not the new nine cause it sucks!!

  • This won't help you because it's a private club, but my favorite course in Knoxville by far is Holston Hills country club.

Great Donald Ross track IMO. That guy knew where to put a bunker, that's for sure.

my dad and uncle built Ruggles Ferry Golf Course in East Knox Co. Anyone ever played it?

I've played it a few times but my daughters have played it many times in high school and TGA summer events and they love it. My youngest takes lessons from D Reed there. Actually about time to get started back with those!

Ever golfed up in crossville? We've done Bear Trace and Stonehenge, liked them both.

Bear Trace is a lot of fun

I have a great story about Augusta. A friend of mine got to play Augusta a few years back. He came up to a par 3 and was looking around the tee box like he lost something. He caddie asked "what are you looking for, Sir". He repied "a broken tee". The caddie took a new tee out of his pocket and broke it in half and handed him the top half and said "here you are, Sir".

    That's a good caddy.
