A fellow Tennessean Vikings fan. That's hard to find. I think a lot of us would like to see Vols play for their team, but as a Vikings fan, I would hate to see Peyton in purple because of the bandwagon fans. I love Peyton, but I don't want him in purple.

I'd love for the vikings to trade down and stockpile some picks, but they dont have the best history on draft day as you might recall..I like Ponder, but it's too early to try and make judgments on him. He still has plenty of time to be boom or bust. Clearly his team going forward though. Was only a matter of time with AD, the way he runs. Afraid this wont be the last of his injuries. Love the guy and he runs fierce, but the shelf life is a concern. Would like to see us pick up some help on the back end defensively this year, maybe Mo Claiborne, and a threat at WR, but really we have needs all over. Good luck to your skin's this year. Cant say i have a fondness for them. Still remember the NFC championship game from '88 when Darren Nelson had the TD in the endzone to tie the game with a minute left and refs ruled he didnt hold it long enough before Darrel Green knocked it out of his hands. That one still smarts to this day. But that's just one of many sore spots for us viking fans...

I want to see if they can continue to build that offense. Another WR, and some offensive linemen, to go with their tight ends (if shockey comes back), running backs, and smith would make that offense just scary. The only worry i have with them is centered around their cap issue.

But that is just it, you have to be super accurate in the NFL. He just didn't show it all the time in college. Also worried about the way they called plays for him at Auburn. He really didn't have the "vocabulary". It was the Oregon board that they used. I really don't expect NFL teams to use a picture of Madden or an orange to signal plays. Gruden even got on him about it before the draft. Physically he is amazing. I have been worried about his propensity to study. Caught cheating on exams at Florida. But I will be the first to say I'm wrong so far about him.

See, i thought he was more accurate than people thought. I just watched him a bunch, and he released it well, showed great arm strength, and showed the timing that was necessary. He completed 66 percent of his passes, which is influenced by short throws, but you could tell that he had the IT factor. The idea that he was not a hard worker or studier comes from people not liking him i think. Was he perfect in the character category? No. But, he took a relatively average Auburn team and made them win a National Championship.
You do not improve accuracy that much in the nfl, but it can be taught with footwork. However, you cannot teach winning in the NFL, and this kid has been a winner.
Just differing views, but i just had a different view then most on him.

Your remarks are accurate and I don't disagree with them. It was just the cloud of controversy that hung over his head that spotted his season. Plus, he did play for Auburn. But in the Carolina uniform - Go Cam! And oh yeah, GO VOLS!

I used to be a Titans fan, but Bud Adams has cured me of that. I still root for them, I guess. I'm pretty apathetic about the NFL. I like how Belichick can win with anyone. I like the Raven's committment to defense football. I like Aaron Rodgers doing anything but State Farm commercials. I like watching Dallas and Washington flounder despite spending all the money they possible can.
Mostly I sit and watch the RedZone and take naps on Sundays
