Favorite Plays?? - NCAA 13

  • This would apply to about any NCAA player (PS3 & XBox), but I thought it would be cool to get some of the "go to" plays in your play books. One of mine is out of an Ace Bunch set & the play call is Curl Flat. A sneaky little 3 to 10 yard gainer when you need it, but I'd love to hear some others...

To make it easy just use your formation, the Package if you want to, & then the Play itself. Let's see how this goes & appreciate the feedback. :)

  • I formation PA streaks. Run the ball a few plays then on first down..... Bomb

As another poster said seattle is a great play and will have at least one wide open receiver.

    Ace te attack

Shotgun 5 wide verticals Is unstoppable.

I've used mostly the same plays every year

Another question I'd like to ask u all..... What defense do u like to use the 3-4 or 4-3? I can dominate with the 4-3 and I'm using the 3-4 this year with ut. Which do u all prefer?

  • Anytime I need a first down, I always go to the TE on one of two plays. Either play action where the WR goes deep and the TE runs straight about 10 yards and slants underneath him to the sideline. Or four verticals where the TE does a deep post across the middle. Pretty much always a LB covering the TE so if the pass block holds for just a couple seconds, the TE gets him beat and is wide open. Not highlight reel plays, but works for about 15-20 yards about 90% of the time.

  • Is the ole WR Under still in today's playbooks? I got a many of first downs with that play and just when my opponent thinks they know what's coming.. BOOM! HB Direct. BOOM! WR Screen up the sideline TOUCHDOWN... but that was back in 2004 so I'm sure things are a little bit different these days.

My buddy and me use to get online and play OC/DC against the highest ranked guys that would accept a challenge... we did beat the #2 guy in the world one night.. Think his name was lllRedZonelll. Best guy I ever played was n3rd1234 or something like that..

    Good times.

The four verticals with the tightend across the middle on that post is unstoppable. It makes me so mad when I play my buddies and they run that play

The 4 verts to the TE. Like a boss!

What Shotgun formation is that? Trips, Trips Flex, or something else. I use the Seattle call out of a different formation (Ace Bunch) & I agree it's a good one.

  • Smash routes always seem to be open this year. Every year their is a route that just works against the programmed defense, and I think it's the smashes this year.

Also, to screw with my friends sometimes I pick Arkansas and they have a shotgun formation where the three plays on a row are an End Around, a fake end around hand off, and an end around PA pass. Just run no huddle and pick a different one every time. Makes me feel like Oregon, even though I am normally a pro-style guy

As far as defense I'm like you, I tend to run predominantly a 4-3. I tried out the default UT Defense & didn't like it so much b/c there were no 4 down lineman sets. I ended up making my own playbook out of Multiple D & incorporating all of the 3-4 sets along with the 4-3 sets. Also like to have the 4-4 & 46 Bear in there, but I can't imagine not having any 4 down lineman sets at all...

On the streaks play, do you lead out your recievers with the L stick a lot? It seems to me when I do that, Bray over throws everybody & when I don't he under throws them for a pick.

What difficulty are you playing on? I'm playing Heisman and have found that UT's defense cannot get off blocks on the line and cannot cover in man to man. Also, the o-line struggles to block for longer than a second or second and a half. Rarely are there holes for the backs to run through. Just curious. I've been playing since about 04 and am pretty damn good, maybe I'm just spoiled having been in year 10 of my 2012 Dynasty and having the top recruiting class 6 years running. lol
