Quarterback Riley Ferguson of Matthews, N.C., traveled to Tennessee's campus Monday to participate in the Vols' camp and captured their attention with his performance.

Play basketball with his uncle, and know his grandfather (pastor @ Gunnings Baptist Church in Blountville). Uncle told me friday that he once held an Alabama offer, but they had recently withdrawn it due to another commit. He is extremely interested. Should get bigger and fill out too. Grandfather is 6'7" and father and uncles all big guys.

According to his profile page he has a top four of UT, Bama, LSU, and South Florida. As someone already mentioned, Bama already has a QB commit and LSU has two. Surely he would pick us over USF with his family connection in E. Tenn.
I think he's ours if we want him!

If Ferguson gets a UT offer, I says he commits pretty quickly. He sounded downright giddy in the interview. Butler High is the new Independence High here in this part of NC, dominating most teams. It is an hour from where I live. I will certainly be watching Butler's highlights this year on Football Friday Night on WBTV channel 3. They have excellent high school coverage from 11:30-12:30 every Friday night thru out season. I hope this thing works out. As mentioned in another thread, we need some solid NC players putting on the Orange. GO VOLS!

Ferguson, if offered, may knock high out of the picture for a scholly at UT. The fact Ferguson was offered by other high level programs makes one definitely want to take a close look at him.

I have met pastor Ferguson. I live about 5 minutes from his church. If I'm not mistaking, he told me he played NBA basketball for the New York Knicks when Phil Jackson played.

Can't believe I'm sitting here typing about how much an 18 y/o kid weighs, but I had a question about that too when I read it. His player profile lists him at 190 though. Not sure which is closer to the truth?
